Future Success: Marley

Marley

Thank you so much for all you do at the Future Center. The college process has been one of the most confusing and stressful things I’ve ever navigated, not to mention scholarship applications and more. I honestly don’t know what I would have done without the consistent and helpful advice and assistance from the Future Center.

I first came to the Future Center to get help with my college application essays, and have been going there ever since for help with many things. Ms. Moe was a trooper about reading about 25 essays (scholarships and college applications), helping me with grammar and shortening word counts. She has also helped me navigate financial aid, especially the CSS profile, narrow down college choices, and generally answer all my questions about the whole college process.  She has been an absolutely critical resource at Central for me and has been so helpful with all of my college issues this whole year.

I have always been very involved with school, participating in Cross Country, NHS, Link Crew, and leading the Feminist Equity Movement and Student Senate in officer positions – but I was very confused by the college process. I knew I was college bound, but I really needed help deciding where to go. I feel like I was very indecisive throughout the process. I applied to eight schools and got into four. From there, I visited them all and had to weigh all the pros and cons.

Talking it out with Ms. Moe in the Future Center showed me which school was the right one for me.

The Future Center services helped smooth out many of the roadblocks, bumps, and potholes in my way. I would tell students that Ms. Moe is super nice, and her room is cozy (and a really great place to hang out in when the florescent lights of Central are too much.)  The college application process is stressful and pretty confusing, but Ms. Moe can help you simplify and understand it. Any questions about college applications, scholarships, financial aid, etc., are all fair game and Ms. Moe either knows the answer or will help you find it. And you should not wait until your senior year to go to the Future Center! Without her help, I would have been calling colleges and trying to figuring it out on my own. There would be a lot more room for error.

Thank you so much for all you do at the Future Center. I honestly don’t know what I would have done without the Future Center’s consistent and helpful advice and assistance. Whenever I had a question or didn’t know what to do, I knew exactly where to go to figure it out, and that has meant so much to me this year.
