It is an honor to work with a great organization that has such a meaningful purpose.  As a nonprofit working to economically transform the city of La Crosse, Wisconsin, and improve the quality of life through a commitment to strong education, our work touches upon several different areas.

Some consider La Crosse Promise to be a private nonprofit that provides educational scholarships. Some look at us as a neighborhood revitalization program. Others measure our impact through economic development. And of course, many people talk about how many high school students we serve through our Future Centers by offering personalized college and career readiness services. The exciting news is that we do all of this!

We believe education programs make our community collectively stronger and promote greater equality. An education-minded community is more likely to experience decreased crime, improved health, greater social and civic engagement, and greater financial success. We promote education and career success by investing in the most important parts of a city: its people.

Millard grew up in West Salem, but has lived in La Crosse since graduating from UW-La Crosse with a degree in Mass Communications.  She worked in radio and television for many years, before transitioning to the world of marketing and public relations.  Most recently she helped people with varying abilities reach their employment dreams and goals.

Millard is a proud Rotarian, having been a member of Rotary East for more than 18 years and currently serves as the Club Administrator.  She has been a past President, Rotarian of the Year-twice,  and a Paul Harris Fellow.  She has been chair of the Interact Steering Committee for several years, overseeing the seven area high school Interact clubs. She has served on the board of directors for the La Crosse Curling Club and is a Certified Curling Instructor. Music is also a passion, as she plays the French Horn  in the Bluffs Horn Club.

You’ll often find her walking or hiking in the La Crosse, or reading a good book. She never misses watching a Packer game and loves marshmallow peeps.
