Through a strong commitment to education, La Crosse Promise is working to ensure student success.
Sophomores at Logan High School put their brains, their feet and their selfie skills to the test!![]()
For the past 10 years, the Scavenger Hunt/History Day Event for 10th graders is a high point of the year.![]()
The students get to walk around to find answers to questions to learn more about the history of La Crosse. Selfies to document stops are various locations were the easiest part of the challenge for this group of kids!![]()

Welcome Mr. Madsen!The School District of La Crosse is proud to announce Luke Madsen as the next principal of La Crosse Logan High School. Madsen brings more than 25 years of experience in education, including leadership roles as a principal in Winona, Minnesota, and Black River Falls, Wisconsin.![]()
“Luke is a thoughtful, student-focused leader who works to make sure every learner feels supported and valued,” said Superintendent Dr. Aaron Engel. “He has a proven track record of building strong school cultures where all students feel seen, supported, and challenged to grow.”![]()
Throughout his career, Madsen has focused on building trust, fostering connection, and creating positive experiences for students and staff. He brings energy and intention to every interaction—whether that’s celebrating staff successes, listening to student concerns, or meeting families where they are. His leadership style is rooted in collaboration and care, with a strong belief in the power of relationships to drive student success.![]()
“My goal is to create a space where every student feels like they belong and can be their authentic self,” Madsen said. “I believe schools should be places of growth, connection, and opportunity. I’m excited to work with the Logan community to build on all the great things already happening there.”![]()
Madsen began his career as a Spanish and physical education teacher before transitioning into leadership. He holds an Education Specialist degree from Silver Lake College and a Master’s in Professional Development from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.![]()
He officially begins his role at Logan High School on July 1.![]()
