"I was impressed with the students." "The food was outstanding!" "I learned so much. Can we do this again next year?"Those were some of the comments from our first "Setting the Table for Success" event!"This was on my list when I first started at Promise, of something we could offer students to help them with life situations after high school," said Future Center Advisor Kathi. "It took a few years to actually happen, but it was well worth the wait."Students mingled with adult mentors during a social hour and dinner, all while learning proper etiquette tips. Some thank you's to those who made this event possible:*To 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐊𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐲 students who prepared the multi-course meal. From the appetizers to the melt in your mouth chicken (you hardly needed knife to cut it!) to the mashed potatoes and green beans and dessert. So delicious! Bravo to a job well done! 🐓👏👍*To community mentors 𝐋𝐞𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐞 𝐀𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐧, 𝐉𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐟𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐲 𝐒𝐣𝐨𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐝𝐚𝐦 𝐇𝐚𝐭𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝. Your guidance and ease in connecting with the students, lessened their anxiety and made them feel supported and more confident. Thank you for being a positive influence in their lives. *To profession etiquette instructor 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧. You explained that the purpose of etiquette is to make people feel comfortable and you do that by being kind and using common sense. Good tips for those of all ages to learn...and relearn! *To the Blue Moon Restaurant, Radisson Hotel La Crosse and Western Technical College for donations of items and/or space. And to the La Crosse Area Community Foundation for a grant to cover expenses! Thanks everyone. It was a great success! Can't wait for next year! #westerntechnicalcollege #loganhighschoollacrosse #lacrosseschooldistrict #lacrosseareacommunityfoundation #lacrossecentralriverhawks #schooldistrictoflacrosse ...
